In the d/Deaf community it is reported that about 2% have received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior!
Recently, I heard that number has reduced to about 1/2%! I wept for 2 hours after receiving this tragic news. Why is this tragic? This means that 99.5% of the d/Deaf community are dying without Christ! That should stir us! That should cause us to seek God and ask Him what our responsibility is as Interpreters!
Heavenly Father, What do You want me to do? How can I make an impact on other Interpreters and d/Deaf people? As Your follower, I want to be obedient to You and what You have created me to do! I empty myself out on the alter, that I may be a pleasing sacrifice to You! Show me Lord what to do and where to go, that I may lead others to You! In Jesus Name! Amen!!
If you are feeling a stirring by the Holy Spirit to do something, please contact. I would love to see how many people actually care about the d/Deaf community. If you are an Interpreter and you know Christ as your Savior, you must put Him 1st! If we fail to do that, then we fail to serve!
